Coiste Na nOg Medal Presentation - Dec 8th 2012

Medal presentations took place in the clubrooms on Saturday evening. There was a great turnout of players from u12s, u14s, and u16s, and we would like to thank all those players parents and supporters who attended. Club secretary Patrick Moriarty was MC for the night and Mark O Shea was special guest. We would like to thank Mark for taking time out to attend, and the high regard in which he is held was evident in the warm welcome he received. This was a very successful year for our underage teams with both u14s and u16s winning central league and west kerry shield finals. As well as receiving their medals the u14s and u16s were given new O Neills tops and the u12s were given new kit bags. A special award was presented to Tim Dennehy for his outstanding service to Coiste Na nÓg, Tim is our club  referee and also provides first aid at games, he approaches everything with a positive attitude and is always on hand to give assistance whenever it is needed. Chairrman Joe wren brought proceedings to an end and he thanked all those who were involved in Coiste Na nÓg this year, the players and parents, team mentors,and club officers, and on behalf of Coiste Na nÓg he wished everyone a happy Christmas.

Kerry U12 Panel - Nov 2012

Castle GAA would like to congratulate Andrea Quirke who played for the Kerry U12 team in a blitz which was held in Lisdoonvarna in County Clare on Sunday 4th November. Andrea lined out at corner forward and Kerry emerged outright winners when they defeated Galway in the final. We wish Andrea the best and we will be following her progress in the kerry jersey.

Castle Senior Ladies

Congratulations to Castle senior Ladies who defeated Listowel in a Shield final in Castle on Sunday 11th November. Well done to Shane Hennessy who has trained and managed the team this year.

Castlegregory Underage Player on Kerry U12 Panel - Oct 2012

Congratulations to Castle underage player Andrea Quirke who has made it on to the Kerry U12 Girls team. Andrea made her debut in the Kerry Jersey when she lined out at midfield in a challenge game on Saturday last.

 

Castlegregory Players on West Kerry U16 Panel - Sept 2012

Coiste Na nÓg- West Kerry 0-16, Mid Kerry 2-06. Congratulations to the West Kerry U16 team and management, they had a four point win over Mid Kerry in the County district Final in Strand road on Sunday last. Well done to John Joe Hussey, Timmothy Moriarty,and Maurice Slattery who represented Castle on the panel.

 

Castlegregory Players on North Kerry Panel

Congratulations to John Joe Hussey and Brandon Hoare who were selected for the North Kerry U16 Panel, they will compete in a munster tournament which takes place in Knocklong Co. Limerick on 14th and 15th of July. Also to Timmothy Moriarty and Maurice Slattery who were selected for the North Kerry U15 panel, they will compete in the munster tournament which takes place in Knocknagree Co. Cork on the same weekend, this team is managed by Michéal O Shea. We wish them all well in their respective competitions, and it is great to see Castle well represented at this level.

Castlegregory Gaa Club Membership

All club membership has to be paid by 31st March so please contact any commitee member before that date if you wish to become a member for 2012.

Coiste na nÓg

Registration for u12s , u14s, and u16 will take place in the dressing rooms on Sunday 12th at 12. 

 

New Manager 

Fergal O Shea of An Ghaeltacht has been appointed as Senior manager for 2012. Fergal had his first meeting with the senior panel on Friday night (Jan 27) and will commence training shortly. We wish Fergal and the team a successful season.

 

Castle Minors

Castle and na Gael Minor teams have amalgamated at minor level. Both clubs did not have enough players at this age group to field teams so an agreement was reached to join for the coming season.
